What Frostburn Adds

Frostburn (version 0.2.0.2, released August 27, 2026, followed by hotfix 0.2.0.4 the same day) is the first major content update since Early Access launch. The official patch announcement and the community’s day-one coverage agree on five headline additions:

• Frost spell school — a sixth school joining Pyro, Elec, Acid, Voodoo and Cactus, focused on freeze control, with an entire new spell combo line.
• Hellfire map — a new unlockable region that appears on the World Map once its unlock condition is met.
• Jungle Dungeons — instanced dungeon content inside the Jungle region.
• Melee weapons — a new equipment category alongside main weapons and sidearms.
• Uranium — a new in-match resource with its own economy (below).

There was also a launch-day compensation: patch 0.2.0.2 shipped with a Blueprint conversion error, and the code THESADLYLOSTBLUEPRINTS grants 15 Blueprints as a make-good. It is still active — see the codes page.

Uranium, Explained

Uranium is found during matches since Frostburn. It works as a replacement for gold in three sinks:

1. Trading with the Wandering Trader
2. Refining equipment
3. Copying a Joker (previously a gold-only luxury)

The part most players miss: any leftover Uranium at the end screen converts into Weapon and Hero XP. It is not the fastest XP farm in the game, but it means Uranium is never wasted — spend what you need, bank the rest as progression.

How to Unlock Hellfire

Hellfire shows on the World Map as an unavailable region until unlocked. Community day-one guides walked the unlock within hours of the patch; the short version is that it gates behind progression in the existing regions rather than a paywall or code. Should You Respec Into Frost?

Early consensus says yes for combo-focused players: Frost is the only school that launched with a full combo line documented by the community on day two (35,000+ views on the first complete combo rundown). Our spell tier list places Frost in S alongside Voodoo for this patch.
